Livermore Wine Map
Winemaking began in the Livermore Valley in 1844 when Robert Livermore, a British Sailor, planted grapes and began making wine. Two of California’s currently operating wineries, Wente and Concannon, established vineyards in Livermore Valley in the 1880s, and in 1889 two Livermore Valley Cresta Blanca Vineyard wines won gold medals at the Paris Exposition. In more recent years, Livermore continually strives to find the right balance between its rural and agricultural origins and increasing urbanization.
